TransCOR Supports Torch Run Cruiser Convoy for Special Olympics - 2024

June 8, 2024 – The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics is the largest public awareness vehicle and grass-roots fundraiser for Special Olympics. In Massachusetts, it is a bedrock in community-building and vital to bringing Special Olympics programming and inclusion to every city, town, and neighborhood.

The LETR is a year-round fundraising and awareness building program, designed to empower members of the law enforcement community to support Special Olympics athletes who live, work, and compete in their local communities. The individual agencies and LETR community members have been essential to propelling the mission and impact of Special Olympics across Massachusetts.

This year TransCOR sponsored two Georgetown, MA Police Department cruisers as well as brought donuts and refreshments to the Danvers, MA meeting spot for all those officers participating in the convoy into Boston, MA.

Chief Sedgwick and Officer Ford participated in the 17th annual Massachusetts Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Cruiser Convoy today.

Nearly 3,000 Special Olympic athletes from across Massachusetts competed in the 2024 Summer Games at Harvard University!
